Maggie is the Founder and Director of The Baby Depot. Maggie saw the glaring need to help Hamilton’s babies in need when another organization that was delivering baby hampers stopped functioning. In 2013, with the help of family and friends, Maggie started The Baby Depot out of her home. The first Christmas they helped 10 families and since then over 400 families have been served by The Baby Depot. What is Maggie’s motivation to continue this mission? She says "We need to show our neighbours they are not alone- especially the littlest ones in our community".

With a background in child development, supporting at-risk youth, and assisting families facing food insecurity, Shaz brings extensive experience in community development across the Hamilton and Halton region. Each week, Shaz welcomes generous donors who bring in boxes of gently used clothing and often share stories about their kids’ favourite items. With a heart for people and a community-driven mindset, Shaz coordinates our dedicated team of volunteers to ensure all donated items are inspected, cleaned, and prepared for the boutique floor for families to access.

With 10+ years of experience in the non-profit sector as a social justice advocate and program facilitator for newcomers, street-involved youth, and injured workers, Kimberley brings a wealth of knowledge to the Program Manager role, where she oversees the boutique’s daily operations and supports families. With a firm understanding of the social determinants of health and the compounded needs of vulnerable populations, Kimberley brings a warm, friendly approach to client-centred service delivery.
